Boundary Scan JTAG Hardware

The ScanWorks' Boundary Scan controllers control how JTAG test vectors are applied to the UUT (unit under test). The vectors are transferred over an internal PC bus to the boundary-scan controller.

The standard cables needed to connect JTAG controllers, pods and buffer boards to a UUT come as part of the various ScanWorks hardware kits or they can be acquired individually as replacements or spares.

An interface pod is sometimes installed to extend the range of voltages and to lengthen the distance between the ScanWorks JTAG boundary scan controller card and the UUT.

The primary function of a JTAG buffer board is to provide a reliable interface for ScanWorks to the board or system being tested.

The ScanWorks' boundary-scan IO module provides test access to off-board signals that otherwise could not be accessed by a JTAG test system.
